The beauty community is buzzing, as usual, with a new Kylie Cosmetics upcoming release.
I’m sure you’ve all heard about the Royal Peach palette Kylie Cosmetics is coming out with on Jan. 12th at 3pm pst. Of course, everyone is wondering what’s better: the Too Faced Sweet Peach palette that was recently re-released or the Kylie Cosmetics Royal Peach palette.
I personally love my Sweet Peach palette and have enjoyed the new variety of colors from Too Faced. But this new Royal Peach palette piques my interest like no other Kylie palette ever has.
Luckily for us, we have Youtubers to give us a preview of the palette before it goes on sale. Jeffree Star came out with a video tutorial and first impression on the Kylie palette. I am DYING to know what he thinks, so let’s see:
Jeffree Star makes some amazing looks! I am always in awe of his ability to pull together unique designs, and this one is no different.
We start off with the packaging, which looks gorgeous. I’m so glad it’s a rectangular palette, as opposed to the square palettes we’ve seen in her line in the past. I just prefer the long shape. There’s no specific reason….it’s just what I like. The packaging is GORGEOUS! The white with rose gold lettering on the front is so sleek and, apparently, it’s quite heavy (feels expensive). When I first saw previews of the palette I thought it would be much smaller than it actually is, which is always great.
The color selection is absolutely gorgeous! There are some really unique and lovely shades in this palette. I’m already wondering which colors would go together for different looks I want to try!
The palette comes with a brush, which Jeffree compliments. That is really surprising. I usually hate the brushes that come in products. But it actually did look like a nice fluffy, blending brush instead of the stiff or flimsy brushes I usually expect so that’s a huge plus!
Oh my Lord, those mattes are smooth and pigmented. Of course, Jeffree has some skills at applying eyeshadow like a God, but even the best eyeshadow blender can’t mask bad product. That product was smooth! I’m in love! Peachy has my heart already.
But I have to agree with Jeffree, the lack of a highlight/light shimmer shade really leaves something to be desired in this palette. I’m a fan of those light shimmer shades on the inner third of the lid and/or the inner corner, so that’s something that will be missed definitely. If you similarly prefer to use those light shimmer shades you’ll have to use a separate shadow, which isn’t really very convenient and almost defeats the purpose of a palette. But does that AMAZING blue shade make up for this serious lack of foresight? I think maybe..
The look Jeffree comes up with is simply amazing. The color selection is beautiful, the mattes went on so smoothly and that blue is FIRE! I definitely
want NEED to have this palette. And Jeffree’s verdict: the Royal Peach beats the Too Faced Sweet Peach palette! Wow! I wasn’t sure which way that was gonna go. Knowing that makes me want the palette even more!
I’ll need some good luck to get it, though. The Kylie products are notorious for going out of stock in minutes on the Kylie site. I know I’ll be waiting by the refresh button.
Before I go, did you catch the new product mention in the video? Jeffree Star gave a preview of his newest Skin Frost shade: Siberian Gold. Here I go again. I have to have it. It’s divine. It’s so beautiful. I don’t know if I want the Kylie Royal Peach palette or the Siberian Gold Skin Frost more!
What do you think of the palette? How about the skin frost? Are you itching for these new releases like I am? Let me know in the comments! I’ll talk to you soon!
