Welcome back to Glam Gods!
I was looking through my Youtube feed today and I saw a video that Tati recently uploaded with her review of the new Revlon Colorstay Creme Shadows. I have seen these in stores and grabbed a few shades to try out and so far I’ve really enjoyed them. They are creamy and pigmented and stay put after application, which I think we all appreciate. I will definitely be going back to the store for a few more shades. The shades I have right now include Pistacio #735 which is this gorgeous forest green color that really pops on the lid and Creme Brulee #705 which is a really beautiful light golden-y color.
I’m interested to see what Tati thought about the shadows and how she uses them.
So Tati starts off by telling us that there are 12 colors in this collection. Going over to the Revlon website and taking a look at the options I’m impressed by the color range. These products are $7.99 on the Ulta website which is a little pricey for a single shadow at the drugstore in my opinion but taking into account how large the pots are I would say you will get a great amount of use out of each of them.
If you’re looking to save some money on these though I would definitely keep an eye on Ulta’s sales because the drugstore side frequently has bogo half off on various brands/products that switch frequently. So if you’re patient, you might be able to save money that way.
She also mentions the built-in brush in the cap which, in my opinion as well, is actually of good quality and is actually useful. Rarely do I enjoy the brushes that are sold in product packaging, but in this case, I was pleasantly surprised. She does recommend cleaning of the brush after each use to prevent it from getting stiff.
She says she is able to get a long wear out of these which is really great. I can’t say that I’ve worn these shadows over a long enough period to say I agree, but I believe her! She knows her stuff.
She suggests using the product as a base under powder shadows or on top of powder shadows. I normally prefer to put a colored base under my powder shadows so I’ve used the colors in my collection for that purpose, but hearing she was able to layer these over powder definitely has me interested in giving that a go.
What do you think of these new creme shadows? Do you have an opinion on these compared to the Maybelline Eyestudio Colortattoo 24HR Cream Gel Eyeshadow. I think I need to do a comparison on these two products! Anyway, let me know what you think in the comments below. Talk to you soon.
